In the late fifties, Porsche planned to build a larger, four-seated car. Project 695 led to a prototype designed by Butzi Porsche. But instead they came to invest in a pure sports car.

The project was called "Project 901". It retained the basic features of the Porsche 356, with a tail-mounted, air-cooled boxer engine and torsion suspension. But the new car was significantly larger and more modern than its predecessor and did not inherit any technology from the 356. The engine got six cylinders, for a more sophisticated ride and new wheel suspensions gave better road characteristics. As I said, the model was supposed to be called "901" but the name was changed instead to 911. This after Peugeot intervened to protect its model names.

When Butzi Porsche designed the body for the new car, he kept the front of the 695 almost unchanged, but drew a new coupé roof line combined with a sloping stern.
In September 1973, the 911 underwent the biggest exterior update during its production life. New bumpers, adapted to legal requirements in the US market, changed the appearance of the car, especially in combination with the fact that more and more chrome decorative strips were replaced by black lacquered decor. The engine was enlarged again, now to 2.7 liters. The three basic models were now called 911, 911S and 911 Carrera. In the fall of 1983, the engine was enlarged one last time, to 3.2 liters and the car then also changed its name to the 911 Carrera.

We can now present a really nice Swedish-sold example of the 3,2 Porsche 911, from 1984. Painted in black combined with specially ordered white leather interior. This Porsche is also equipped with a typical 80s turbo wing. The Porsche was sold new by Rydbergs Motor in Kalmar, Sweden in November 1983 to Miss Liselotte Hansen. The car is well documented and well maintained at Porsche workshop over the years. Inspection protocols have been documented since 1986 and the meter today stands at approx. 180,000 km. The car is largely untouched with overall body parts in its original paint. The chairs' in white leather upholstery is intact and has just undergone upholstery treatment and pigment filling. During the late summer of 2022, the engine underwent an overhaul at Porsche. The car comes with a lot of documents in the form of books, service records, inspection records and ownership history.
