The Porsche 901 was presented at the IAA motor show in September 1963, but the start of production was delayed for a year, until the autumn of 1964, when the car was renamed the Porsche 911. In the first year, only a single variant was sold, but in September 1965 the semi-open Targa model was introduced.
The roof section over the front seats could be removed, as could the rear window, which was made of plastic in the early years. What remained was a strong arch over the rear seat, which protected the passengers in the event of an accident.

In 1966, the sportier 911S was added. In addition to the more powerful engine, it had rear anti-roll bars and the light-alloy wheels from Otto Fuchs that later became so characteristic of the 911 model.
In the autumn of 1967, the wheelbase was extended, which improved road holding. A simpler third model, the 911T, completed the range downwards, and a semi-automatic gearbox, called Sportomatic, was offered as an option.

In September 1969, the engine was enlarged to 2.2 liters and two years later, in September 1971, once again to 2.3 liters. The reason was to maintain performance, despite stricter exhaust emission requirements in Porsche's most important market, the USA.
The Swedish police acquired a total of thirteen Porsche 911/912s between 1965 and 1972 for use primarily in traffic surveillance.
It was one of the police 911s that was used to quickly transport Minister of Justice Lennart Geijer from his summer residence outside Malmö to Bulltofta Airport in connection with the plane hijacking there in 1972.

Porsche produced a number of racing versions of the 911, called the Carrera RS, where RS stands for Rennsport, or motorsport. The first was the Carrera RS 2.7 from 1972.
In addition to the larger engine, the car had been lightened by around 100 kg by removing much of the comfort equipment and using thinner body panels. The car was distinguished, in addition to large decals with the text “Carrera”, by front and rear spoilers.
The fixed rear spoiler was part of the engine cover, molded in fiberglass.

In 1973 and 1974, the further developed Carrera RS 3.0 was produced, with a larger engine, larger brakes and even larger spoilers. In 1984, the Carrera SC/RS was produced, with a widened 930 body, larger brakes and chassis parts from the RS cars of the seventies.
During the last years of the 911 model, it was also offered in a Club Sport (CS) version. The engine was original, but by removing much of the comfort equipment, the weight was reduced by around 50 kg.

Our example is a Carrera RS clone in rally version with accompanying FIA passport S5512.
This Porsche Carrera is equipped with a 3.0 liter engine that produces around 285 HP. The fuel system is equipped with injection from Kugelfischer and Rugen pump.
– Close-ratio gearbox 915
– Final gear 8:34
– Adjustable shock absorbers from Öhlins
This Porsche Carrera RS clone runs like a charm! The engine is in exceptionally nice condition and is incredibly fast and potent. Contact us for more information.
